About

Tongbong Woolshed

Tongbong Woolshed, pronounced 'Tungbung' if you're a local, is named after both the road we're located on and the mountain overlooking the woolshed.

The woolshed was once a working shed filled with the hustle and bustle of shearers and wool classers until 2016, when the focus moved towards beef cattle. The Woolshed was used as a storage shed until 2020 when the transformation began to create a venue for our daughter's wedding in 2022.

After witnessing the remarkable outcome of our daughter's wedding, held in the delightful ambiance of the woolshed, we were deeply moved by the enthusiastic reactions from our guests. Their overwhelming appreciation for the rustic country wedding convinced us to share this delightful venue with others, ensuring that more couples and families can experience the same joy and beauty in their celebrations.

The woolshed, aged over 100 years, showcases its history. Most of the timber for the alterations was harvested from the property, featuring ironbark posts, black cyprus beams, and rafters, alongside battens crafted from stringy bark, all locally sourced. Additionally, repurposed tin from the roof now lines the walls of our new bathroom, highlighting our sustainability commitment. To further this commitment, the woolshed is also equipped with multiple solar panels.

The farm features a rustic entertainment shed, marquee site and area for lawn games and loads of potential ceremony spots to make your own.
